The narration of the video:

"Namaste – I’m Jayan Mitra, director of the charitable GandhiServe India Trust in Mumbai. The aim of our trust is to spread the ethics of peace and nonviolence by disseminating information about and popularizing Mahatma Gandhi’s life and work. We firmly believe that Gandhi's message of truth, love and nonviolence is still relevant today - even more relevant than ever before, considering the ecological catastrophe we're facing and the increase of different forms of violence in the world. As an answer to this and an appeal to the conscience of humanity we're planning to publish a coffee table book on Mahatma Gandhi.

Now, let’s take a look at the book:
Mahatma Gandhi ... the Father of the Indian Nation, and the Apostle of Nonviolence. He worked for India's independence from British rule, and gave us the awesome power of nonviolence. A social reformer, he taught the world the eternal values of love and truth. His fight for human rights, protection of the environment, and religious tolerance was mankind's finest hour.
This book introduces the reader to the life and work of the historic figure of Mahatma Gandhi, through rare images and archive material. The photographs have been collected over a period of 30 years from extensive sources. In an inter-disciplinary project Gandhi scholars, historians, photo experts and graphic designers joined hands in order to convert black and white photographs into colour images - thus making them true documents of history. The missing colours were added according to the historic settings. By this process, the pictures have been vividly enhanced to produce colourful documentary photographs.
Within the 680 pages of this book, you see Mahatma Gandhi as you’ve never seen him before! 1.281 colourized photographs provide a rare insight into his extraordinary life, which was ruled by love, truth and nonviolence.
The book will be launched on 15 September 2016. And as well as the amazing photographs, this work consists of a detailed biography and well-selected quotations covering 37 topics.
Actually, it’s not really a book! This is a monument on paper - the biggest, heaviest, and most radiant work ever printed, on the outstanding life and work of the Father of the Indian Nation. This photo biography of Mahatma Gandhi weighs 7 kilograms, and comes in a slipcase of 28 x 41 cm.
And you can become part of this historic project by supporting the Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign. Donors receive a reward in the form of a digital image as used in the book, or a real vintage photograph of Mahatma Gandhi, or a copy of the book. Every donor’s name will be mentioned on the slipcase, in the book, and on the book’s website. Institutions can also get their logo or ad printed.

For details visit We really value your help to ensure that this book becomes reality. Please share this video with likeminded folks, friends, family, colleagues and your community.
Be part of enabling future generations to access this definite photo-biography, providing a vividly realistic portrayal of the Apostle of Nonviolence - Mahatma Gandhi."
