Unique experience for school students
Staff Reporter
GUWAHATI, April 26 – Students of Parijat Academy had a unique experience on Thursday when they interacted with students of Flinders University, South Australia. This was for the first time that Parijat Academy, a school for underprivileged children located at Pamohi on the outskirts of the city, had formal interaction with a foreign university.
Altogether 20 students of this school, teachers and founder of Parijat Academy Uttam Teron shared their experiences and issues concerning their locality with students of Flinders University.
“We were really happy by the interest these foreign students showed for Parijat Academy,” said Uttam.
Uttam talked not only about his educational initiatives but also about sustainable livelihood in his communities and that enlightened the students of Flinders University.
The programme through Skype Video lasted for one hour and it was coordinated by Dr Udoy Saikia, a senior lecturer of Flinders University.
