In 1987 one of the main events were Gandhi-in-Action's first deplometic relations with the then USSR. The USSR's then External Afair Minister Eduerd Shevardnadze wrote to Secretary General the then of the United Nations, that the last decade of the 20th Century be celebrated as the decade of celebrating "Building a Nuclear-weapon-Free & Non-violent World Order." This News was flashed by Tass, the then USSR Goverment News Agency.

I wrote a letter of congratulations to Mr. Shevavardnadze, admiring him for his suggestion, to the UNO. I thought who cares for the letters from an ordinary citizan of a country like India. But External Affair Minister personally took interest and directed the Vice- Ambassador of of USSR in New Delhi, India, who personally came to my residence and accknoweldge the letter and told that USSR Embassy would be very glad to esteblish cultural relations with Gandhi-in-Action. Since then the Cultural Wing of the Embassy had been organising programs in colaborations with Gandhi-in-Action. One of the main programs we organised was a Conference on Non-violent World Order which was addressed by our senior colleauges Shri Shardhanand, as Chief Guist, while I was asked to preside. Soon after USSR itself was dissolved in 1989.

Another International Event was "World Bike Ride" in which four teams of Bike Riders travelled from Four Corners of the World, propogating for World Peace, Goodwill and Envirnment Protection. Gandhi-in-Action was given the responsibility of organising the evant in India. This World evant was concluded at Hide Park, London. The bike riders were recieved be Duke of Edenbara in a special function. Gandhi-in-Action was among the officially invited organisations.
