ESSAY COMPETITION FOR MOTHERS
“CAN PARENTS BY THEMSELVES MOULD CHILDREN’S BEHAVIOUR IN TODAY’S SOCIETY ?”
Nandini Voice for The Deprived, a Chennai (India) based NGO is organising an All India essay competition for mothers on “Can parents by themselves mould children’s behaviour in today’s society ?”
In recent times, there is a view that the level of influence of the parents on the behaviour of the children in the formative age group are no more what it was a few decades back.
This scenario is attributed to the huge influence of external factors like television , internet and cinemas on the mindset of the children.
It is also attributed to the inability of the parents to spend adequate time with the children , as both mother and father are employed full time in many families.
Another view is that several recent incidents of violent and undesirable behaviour amongst the children in the formative age group have not been due to the parents but inspite of them.
The object of the essay competition is to know the views of the mothers on this critical question.
All mothers all over India are eligible to participate in the competition. Indian mothers who live abroad can also participate in the competition.
