Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development(Estd: 1993), Sriperumpudur, Chennai has conducted a "Training of Trainers in Life Skills" from 18th May to 22nd May under their Adolescent Health and Development Project(AHDP), supported by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
AHDP Organizes Career Guidance Training for Teachers, Career Melas/Exhibitions, Life Skill Training, Teen Clubs Activities to implement capacity building activities, community intervention programmes and institutional strengthening.
This training programme is focused on 10 core life skills such as Self Awareness, Empathy, Effective Communication, Inter-Personal Relationship, Critical Thinking, Creative Thinking, Decision making and Problem Solving, Coping with Stress and Coping with Emotions.
Training manual and workbook is distributed to the participants. I was one among the 30 participants who have participated from various parts of the country like Mumbai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Guwahati, Tamilnadu and Karnataka to imbibe and internalise the life skills taught.

Dr.Radhakrishnan Nair IAS, presided and inaugurated the training programme while Mr. Sam Prasanth Kumar, Project Officer briefed on RGNIYD and Mr. Sudir Kapoor, Consultant introduced the purpose of Life Skills.
