The origins of Nonviolence, Democracy and Peace in India

The origins of Nonviolence, Democracy and Peace in India

It was around 600 BC when great Buddha started his biggest monastery (Sangh) in Vaishali, the north-eastern state of Bihar, with a membership of thirteen thousand monks called as ‘Bhikshus’, both male and female. Live for Others---GANDHIJI

Dr. ram Sharma, India

Poem

FOR OTHERS

FOR OTHERS
Take fragrance from bowers,
learn the art of laughing from flowers,
Choose the path of blesssing,
inspite of living in thorns,
relinquish the ways of falsehood,
and accept the ways of truth,
if you can`t become a sea,
becoming the stream,
quench the thirst of others
always guide the others,
always live for others

your memory comes,
from distant hills,
like a flowing river
and where it goe

Happy Gandhi's Birthday to Everyone. Mr. Michael Nagler donated some books for our seminary. When sorting out the books, I fell on two lovely jewelries and I discovered some treasures. I got to know of an author I have not heard of Before: Eknath Easwaran. I am almost devouring his two books: Gandhi the Man and Nonviolent Soldier of Islam. I thank Mr Nagler for the precious gift. I recommend this book for those who want to understand how one man changed himself to change the world. go to…

Be proud to call him your father

When your friend asks you to write an article about someone you do not know you may hesitate for a moment. If the same friend asks you to write an article about the person you love the most, you would start writing the very moment.
Mahatma is seen just as a freedom fighter. The youth of this generation questions the moral ground for his anointment as the father of this nation. I probably asked the same question - a decade back - to myself but I would now laugh for my ignorance…
