Fast to death for HealthCare USA

I am considering undertaking a fast - to death if necessary - here in the USA, to get our Govt. to "Quit Politics" when it comes to making sure that everyone and especially the poor have access to quality health care that is fully subsidized. it will take alot of courage and effort, and we will need alot of media to make it's message clear. I would even travel to Washington D.C. to let our two houses of Congress see how desperately the people here need medical care coverage. Anyone have any… Continue

IN EXILE ON GOOD FRIDAY

by Jeff Knaebel, 21 March 2008

Yudhishthira – one of the Pandeva brothers in the Bhagavad Gita – speaking to his Queen upon being exiled to the Himalaya:

“Behold the Himalaya, how grand and beautiful they are. I love them. They do not give me anything, but my nature is to love the grand, the beautiful; therefore I love them. Similarly I love the Lord… my nature is to love Him, therefore I love. I do not pray for anything, I do not ask for… Continue

If I Shall Live Long Enough

(Being An Outline of a Future Essay)

By Jeff Knaebel, 9 April 2009

How Shall We Live?

1. Lose my mind in the love of life.

Turning Compassion into Action

This struck me as a powerful message. Bottom line, this organization is asking us all what can we do to make a difference. The caparison is made between what Father Damien did to help the lepers of Kalaupapa, Hawaii, and what we, ourselves, can do today to help alleviate AIDS, poverty and homelessness, etc. Take your compassion to action. Check it out. http://www.youtube.com/user/anawimdamien

Pain of losing a friend

Kamala Sarup, Kathmandu, Nepal : There is no security and no rights for Nepali women. These days, there is no security for women even in their homes, workplaces and public places. My eyes were full of tears.

I arranged my hair, and I looked at myself in front of the mirror. I lit the stove and boiled tea in a kettle. My heart began to boil like the tea in the pot. My women's rights activist friend Rupa and I had been good friends in school, when she was in 9th grade and I was in 10th… Continue

SPIRITUAL ECNOMICS (APRIGRAHA)----2

As I have said in the begining, one of the oldest traditions for running the Society smoothly, healthy, happily and peacefully had been Vedic Traditions. It had laid-down four fold-gole for human life. First was Dharma, which means one should do his duties as per the voice of her or his 'Inerself' and not only outwardly compulsions. Second was Artha. It means do your socio-economic-political routines according to your Dharma. The third one was Kama, which means enjoy all worldly… Continue
