Truth, Non-Violence, Mahatma Gandhi & Young India

As soon as this topic hit my mind, the first thing that came into my mind was its readership. I am sure; most of the people will hit the ‘back’ key as soon as they will see the title. But the importance of the topic and the person described above does not depend on how many people are reading this blog. The way he lead the country and the way he lived his life, has become an integral part of world history now. Youngsters may not believe on Truth, Non-Violence and…

MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. AND MAHATMA GANDHI

I have just come back from University of Rhode Island, Kingston. There was 10th International Course on Kingian Nonviolence. I attended this Course as a student as I was eager to know the foundations of Culture of Nonviolence as per King's experiments that he had made in US for more than two decades from the year 1950 to 1968.

In this short period of 11 days, I could understand the basics of Martin Luther King Jr.  At the same time I also did comparative study with the…

On Defaming Gandhi!

I would like to express my sincere regret towards the degrading and defaming news items appearing in the newspapers and magazines around the world nowadays about the life of Gandhiji and his habits, motives, and his lifestyle causing a serious misconception among the today’s' youth and younger generation who would surely come to premature conclusions that needs a serious attention.

Last day, one of my relative's friends, a woman in her twenties was talking to me and upon looking at… Continue

FROM DRY MATHEMETICS TO LIVING SOCIOLOGY

I

I am in the US, at the University of Rhode Island, Kingston, attending an International Institute on Kingian Nonviolence. I came here to learn about Martin Luther King Jr's strategy of social change through Nonviolence. Here on the internet I saw a horrifying news from my country, in Bihar State, Police brutally beating a village youth to death in the most barbaric way. I am sitting here more than ten thousand kilometers away. This News give me a shock which is unbearable. I wrote…

All that can fall within the compass of human understanding, being either, first, the nature of things, as they are in themselves, their relations, and their manner of operation: or, secondly, that which man himself ought to do, as a rational and voluntary agent, for the attainment of any end, especially happiness: or, thirdly, the ways and means…

25 JUNE, RAJGHAT, NEW DELHI

Dear friends,

As, You are aware that the fast of Irom Sharmila Chanu has crossed 10 years, with a demand to repeal AFSPA (Armed Forces Special Powers Act, 1958).

She was arrested based on the charges for attempt to commit suicide, criminalized as a high security prisoner and her access to family, friends, supporters and the media have been denied. It is a shame that in this land of Gandhi, a non-violent…
