The friends from all over the world have been kind enough to respond to my personal request. Very first gift has come from a couple from Holland. This couple came into contact with me few years back at Gandhi Summer School in UK where I have been invited by Gandhi Foundation, UK, as a resourse person. The name of the couple is Ester and Wim. "Good To Eat: Gandhi And The Ethics Of Food", by Amita Baviskar

[Transcription of Ahimsa Day Lecture, 2010]

I’m not a scholar of philosophy or history so I can't claim to be able to discuss Gandhi’s ideas from those perspectives. But what I do know a little bit is the issue of India’s environment and development and the cultural politics around these questions in our country.

And I’ve been more recently trying to address these issues of… Continue

"Gandhi's Final Fast", by Dilip Simeon

[Transcription of Ahimsa Day Lecture 2010].

Recently I was asked to write a couple of lectures for students, undergraduates - on the significance of Gandhi, and on communalism. When I began writing the lectures, which were supposed to be written very simply, I realized that I was not being true to the task of trying to bring across something important about that great man to the younger generation, many of whom may have forgotten. And then I decided…

Often we seek enlightenment, guidance and solace but they are what a person have tolerated in his life.

War is easy to start, hard to end and impossible to forget

“Knowledge” exists, “Wisdom” is discovered.

An eye for eye only ends up making the whole world blind.
