I have made an attempt to bunch together documents taken from the Collected Works of Mahatma Gadhi, connected with his fast unto death in 1932, against the Communal Award. A reading of these documents puts the reader in touch with the Mind of Mahatma Gandhi and thus can be likened to a pilgrimage through those magical times when untouchability was abolished and Hinduism was purged of this great curse which had defied the reformers for decades.

Village education today has broadly come to mean primary education. the cities which today flourish on the ruins of villages should so change that they serve the villages. Whether or not the cities change, It must convert to this viewpoint as many as possible of the young men and women there. Hence it is necessary that primary education should be considered from various points of view. I wish to dwell on only one idea in this article. From many years of reflection and…

Mahatma Gandhi was very careful about the permotion of Indian women. He knew it very well that without co-operation of women, men cannot participate & did satyagraha for the freedom of India. They were not perform and spread of my constructive work among societies.
You are sorry, I know, that the great patriot, Bharatbhushan Pandit Malaviyaji, who treats me as an elder brother, is not here today, but I am more sorry than you are. This ceremony should have been performed by him. We…

As I enter the Kheda District, memories-some sweet, some fill the mind. It was while working in the Kheda District that I became one with the lives of people. I have seen nearly all the villages here. I covered many of them on foot. I have come to Navagam in the middle of a battle. This is our third halt: Aslali was the first,…

You have just heard Panditji's song that the path of love is like a flame. A satyagrahi's path is the path of love, not one of enmity. It should be the ambition of a satyagrahi to win over even the most hard-hearted of enemies through love. How can one demonstrate that there is nothing…

Gene has asked another question. It relates to Gandhiji's basic assumption of Soul force. Gandhiji realised in his life Experienced that there is one universal force which if reflected in one and all. Gandhiji call it soul force. Any thing else is a temporary, ever changing, and it is imprfect phenomenon. That is what Ganhiji consider imperfect or untruth. Gandhiji never agree to this concept as untuth or unreal. Gandhiji also called it theory of Vedanta or in modern language he called it…

Introduction: It is needless to mention about the role and importance of education in the life of man. Education is the only means for the all-round development of humans. The pathway to human development and prosperity in an inevitable state of peace and harmony follows the lanes of education with the condition that its direction should be right and founded on values. Reformers, thinkers and philosophers of repute, who were also the great teachers in their respective times, guided…

As I read Dr. King's last speech to the SCLC, I see that he was proposing libertarian socialism or even philosophical anarchism, which is aligned with Mahatma Gandhi and New Testament Christianity. But in the context of the Cold War, use of fully voluntary little "c" communism made King appear to be talking of big "C" Communism or Marxism, which is a murderous ideology that steals farms from farm families and leaves them to die in labor camps, etc. I think King's message was moral, promoted…
