About me / us
I am a retired bank worker. Worked for two foreign banks as a vice-president for about 25 years, and thereafter as an adviser to another multinational bank. From my childhood through my father
I have been an admirer of Mahatma Gandhi, much impressed by Jawaharlal Nehru's sincerety in poverty alleviation in India.
My / our projects, events, campaigns, research, publications
I have no project on hand. But, after retirement I have been thinking of a solution for the Naxalite problem. Vinoba's Bhoodan movement has impressed me a lot. The Congress Resolution of 1959 at Nagpur on collective farming, which was never implemented, could perhaps provide an answer. A debate on this will perhaps make a beginning in solving the problem. Appropriately, Paunar Ashram should provide a forum for this debate, by invitng Naxalites and Sonia Gandhi.

If you were with us, Gandhiji

As is being remembered by many Gandhians in Gandhi Topia, Gandhiji has indeed given us great insights into our life which were all revelations of universal truths. But the most important gifts that he gave us is our independence and a unique way to fight imperialism. Gandhiji's heart bled as he saw India was bleeding.…

Indian Socialism

Dr Ravi Kumar's article on Indian socialism is timely.  With your permission I may refer to one more mile stone in the career of Jawaharlal Nehru.  The Nagpur resolution on cooperative farming in 1959 was a revolutionary move.  About 603,000 cooperatives throughout India were to pool and productive resources and share their produce with participants.

However, the first open division in the Indian polity was seen after that…

The whole world is in need of Vinoba's intuitions... gram swaraj, gramdan and Jai Jagat. The gradual degeneration of the national 'state' institution, of the so called 'bypolar partitocracratic democracy', of the global economy based on competion and exploitation for profit, of the enviroment situation, will soon bring about a new scenario... where people will have to survive the downfall of the systems and organize themselves in a 'new' way.
The community will gather in spirit of solidariety, enlightened people will come out to offer their wisdom and services and gramdan, gramswaraj will be established... local communities will connect and federate with neighbouring ones, and a global federation of local communities will be the new global social order...
Jai Jagat!!!
The end of an 'old world' and the beginning of the 'new world'.
