Profile Information

In regard to the life and work of Mahatma Gandhi I am a / we are an
institution
About me / us
GandhiServe, a charitable foundation registered in Germany, aims to spread the ethics of nonviolence by disseminating information about and popularizing Mahatma Gandhi’s life and works.
GandhiServe Foundation hopes to help alleviate conflicts and inspire others through making available media and resources on Gandhi’s life and thoughts.
We believe firmly that Gandhi's message of truth, love and nonviolence is still relevant today. Or even more relevant than ever before, considering the ecological catastrophy we're facing, and the increase of different forms of violence in both personal and public life. The ethics of nonviolence, as practised and cultivated by Mahatma Gandhi, live on, regardless of national or political boundaries.
The purpose of the foundation is the promotion of science, cultural and historical research, and education. This purpose is achieved by:
1. Execution of both academic and non-academic research projects that identify and conserve original documents on and by Mahatma Gandhi.
2. Execution of such educational projects which propagate peace, the ethics of nonviolence and the memory of Mahatma Gandhi and his teaching.
Gandhiserve Foundation owns the best collection of audio visual content and documents on Mahatma Gandhi and India's independence movement in terms of quality and quantity. The archives have rare photographs, films, footage (film clips), letters, cartoons, newspaper clippings, documents and paintings of the Apostle of Nonviolence and India's struggle for freedom. Hi Peter, thanks for the information. The world of peace and nonviolence! A great challenge to realise. True Gandhians together can surely bring this change. Congratulations! It's a great job to provide an interactive platform to those who love and admire Gandhi and Gandhian philosophy.
I am inspired by your profile. My father is a true Gandhian. He is now 90 years but still full of inner energy. Please accept my invitation to come to Jaipur, whenever you visit India next time.

My first trip to India was in 1981. While travelling for 2 months, throughout much of the country, there were occasions when I stayed in homes which were connected with an otganization called Servas of which I was a member. The finest introduction possible to India was provided to me through my very dear friernd (and his family), A.B. Baradwai. For the first time I met A.B, Rani, Meenu. and Kapel on that 1981 trip. They very generously shared (as Servas members, too) their home, their lives, and the spirti of Gandhansm with me. We have been together many times since, particularly when I am in India.
Since 1982 I and a few friends have founded a voluntary international aid agency called H.A.V.E (Help A Village Effort) for the prime purpose of supplying safe drinking water wells, mostly bore wells, to desperately needy villages, especially in India. To date we have provided nearly 800 village wells and safe drinking water systems. Much of our funds are raised via our annual Walks For Water,(Through CIDA of the federal Government often H.A.V.E.'s projects are matched by a grant.) For more info see : www.helpavillageeffort.org or contact Gerry Feltham, gerryfeltham@hotmail.com.

Dear Peter,

You won't believe. While viewing your photos of 80s and 90s with Prabhudasbhai and others, I was overcome with emotions. I don't know why. I am here in the land of Bapu - Ahmedabad! I am working with my cousin. Though visiting the Ashram has become few and far between, the memories of that place will never evaporate from heart through the heat of all devouring Time. I would love to have further communication with you, verbal or written, in future. Let me confess one thing. I love you.
