Marvelous work, Peter Ruhe! Congratulations for all that you've achieved thus far and my best wishes for all that you will do in the future... (and all thinking people owe you a huge vote of thanks for all the work you've done, the trouble you have…

Profile Information

In regard to the life and work of Mahatma Gandhi I am a / we are an
student, scholar, activist, just interested, others (see below)
About me / us
I'm MOST INTERESTED in any activities that could promote/enhance Gandhian values in society - as I am fairly certain (through long periods of thought and activity on individual/organisational/societal issues) that Gandhian values could lead us to discover how to be economically and environmentally sane in this world we have created (where mainly insanity seems to rule in all spheres).

My 'One Page Management System' (OPMS) - a powerful generic aid to problem solving and decision making - could help very significantly to promote the causes for which M.K. Gandhi gave his life.
My / our projects, events, campaigns, research, publications
My project is the 'One Page Management System' (OPMS), which I invented way back in 1983 - and after that it has ruled my life: practically EVERYTHING I have thought or done since then has been in furtherance of a single OPMS Mission: "To propagate OPMS in India and in the world outside".

Here is a VERY brief outline of what OPMS helps users do:

1. Enables (individual or group) user to identify a Mission - Mission could relate to ANY issue of interest to individuals, organisations, societal groups, society as a whole.

2. Asks user some 'trigger questions' related to the Mission:

1st trigger question is: "What, in your opinion, are the THINGS TO DO to accomplish the Mission?"
2nd trigger question is: "What, in your opinion, are the BARRIERS/ DIFFICULTIES/ THREATS that could hinder/prevent accomplishment of Mission?
Other trigger qeustions relate to:
-- STRENGTHS (available/required) that could help accomplish the Mission;
-- OPPORTUNITIES available (and PREPARATION required to avail them) that could help accomplish Mission;
-- WEAKNESSES that may hinder/prevent accomplishment;
-- identifiable EVENTS/MILESTONES that should be expected to occur during progress towards Mission.

(Yes, the OPMS *includes* the conventional 'Management SWOT Analysis' - but it goes much, much further).

3. Enables user to record, discuss and clarify his/her/their ideas relative to the Mission. This is an ongoing process for the life of the Mission. These ideas are the 'elements' of the Mission. What is desired is to enable users to understand the pattern of relationships holding between the elements in the systems that exist or are created in pursuance of the Mission - how this can be accomplished is described in the next step

4. Enables user to create models showing his/her/their perceptions how various above elements may impact on each other in various ways:
-- how they may contribute to each other (and the Mission);
-- how they may hinder/prevent each other (and the Mission);

5. Enables user to develop/create *effective systems* to help accomplish the Mission (modifying Mission or its elements as needed or appropriate)

The above are accomplished through the systems modelling theories established by John N. Warfield, Emeritus Professor, George Mason University. For more information on Warfield's seminal contributions to systems science, see http://www.jnwarfield.com and also the "John N. Warfield Collection" of books, papers and presentations held at the library of George Mason University.

For more information about OPMS, contact me at:

and I shall be happy to send background information. (PowerPoint presentations + Word documents - about 1.5 to 2 MB in size). If the claims in this background information interest/intrigue you, I shall be most happy to make freely available the current prototype of the OPMS software that enables you relatively easily to create effective Action Planning to accomplish any desired Mission along with (limited) guidance to help you start up - no fees or other charges.

If you at Gandhitopia or at Gandhiserve feel it useful, I shall be most happy to make this information along with the OPMS software available right here for interested users.

Please feel free to contact me for any clarifications or further information required.

Dear Mr Chandy
Please disregard my previous invitation as I had made a mistake about the date. This is the correct date. It is 15th Nov and not 17th as mentioned by me in my previous invitation
Peter Ruhe is visiting Mumbai and on 15th November is organizing a simple get together at Bombay Sarvodaya Mandal for the Mumbai members of Gandhitopia. The get together will start at 5 pm. Kindly let me know if you would like to be a part of this get together on my email ID c_kaji@yahoo.com
