In regard to the life and work of Mahatma Gandhi I am a / we are an: scholar

About me / us: I am an Indian national. Retired in 1985 from the United Nations where I was Assistant Secretary-General and head of the Centre against Apartheid. I live in New York and am engaged in research and writing on Gandhi and on the struggle for liberation in South Africa.

My / our projects, events, campaigns, research, publications: I edited Gandhi and South Africa, 19141948, with Gopalkrishna Gandhi; correspondence of Sarojini Naidu and Gandhi, with Mrinalini Sarabhai; and Gandhi's letters to three Danish women, with Holger Terp.
I have searched for and located a number of letters by and to Gandhi which were not available in India and supplied them Gandhi archives in India.
