About me / us
Bishnu Pathak holds a Ph.D. in Conflict and Human Rights from Tribhuvan University. Presently he has been working at Conflict Study Center (CS Center) as the President. He is a Convener of South Asia, TRANSCEND International (A Network for Peace and Development) and Board Member of TRANSCEND Peace University (TPU) from January 2006. His book Politics of People’s War and Human Rights in Nepal is a widely circulated volume. He has worked as a Peace and Conflict Analyst at the IIDS/Finish Embassy, Team Leader for LANCAU/British Embassy, Senior National Peace and Conflict Analyst at the EU to mitigate conflict among European Commission-founded government and non-government institutions, Researcher at The Danish Center for Human Rights, Peace and Conflict expert for ITDG and ActionAid, and has been a human rights activist for 20 years. He is the author of a number of publications including Intra-Dalit Discrimination: Status Report on Tarai Dalits (2006, British Embassy), A Status Report on Human Rights in Nepal (2003, National Human Rights Commission), Anatomy of UN Mission in the World (2007, Nepal Human Rights Organization) Nepal Police and Human Rights (2008, Nepal Police Academy), and so forth. He is the co-author of Conflict Resolution in Nepal: Role of Monarchy (2006, IIDS). He is the author of numerous articles on human rights, conflict, and peace published in Nepal and abroad including Nepal's 2008 Constituent Assembly Elections: Converting Bullets to Ballots (2008, Asia Pacific Bulletin, East-West Center, established by the U.S. Congress in 1960).
