Do Gandhians participate in electoral politics?

Do Gandhians participate in electoral politics?

To the question of whether those who claimed to follow Gandhi had any special role or duty in the ensuing elections has often had mixed reactions from scholars and politicians with the changing times in Indian politics. Many believe that Government had no faith in Gandhian values or in Gandhian concepts of development or in a non-violent society and is taking the country on the path to ruin. One should not only wish that the…

From Kashmir to Cauvery - India’s internal pain

Riots and clashes in the Kashmir valley over the issue of PoK and the ongoing brushes with the military personnel and the administration have shaken the bottom-most roots of peace and harmony. Politicizing such riots are more than the violence itself as it distorts the actual ingredient and motives of the involved factions. Students are pelting stones at the police forces for a particular price. Separatists are adding fuel to the riots…

AUM.

Thanks indeed Shri Balamurali Balaji on my article on Marital Rape. You have taken pains to go into the problem in depth.

The Law in Bharat does not recognise marital rape. Our Vedic Dharm speaks volumes on Vedic Dharm bu there is not a word on marital rape.

Frankly speaking, it is a concept of the West where Women's Lib movement , inter alia, created a chasm between the husband and wife. We must encourage them to live together and NOT end up as single parent.

Sasneh,

Brigadier(Retd) Chitranjan Sawant,VSM

For N. Ashok Kumar

I agree India and China has taken different routes.  For first 65 years if independence, India adopted the Western socialist/ communist ideas, tried to destroy the ancient Indian culture and so did China.  Morals and ethics were ignored by the leaders in both countries for material prosperity.  In China it it is estimated that around 70 million Chinese died as a result of government policies.  British were very good at controlling media and school text books to show that they were very honest and benevolent rulers.  The truth was far from it.  British educated believed everything they read in text books and came to hate everything Indian - morals, ethics, scriptures, leaders, etc.

Thank you, Balamurali, for your support & review of the book.

Hope someone, somewhere will initiate a non-violent civil disobedience for a good cause for the benefit of common men.
