The message of the East

[In the course of his address to the concluding session of the Inter-Asian Relations Conference held at Delhi on 2-4-1947 Mahatma Gandhi, stating that the wisdom had come to the West from the East, remarked as follows:]

The first of these wise men was Zoroaster. He belonged to the East. He was followed by Buddha who belonged to the East-India. Who followed Buddha? Jesus, who came from the East. Before Jesus was Moses who belonged…

AUM.

Thanks indeed Shri Balamurali Balaji on my article on Marital Rape. You have taken pains to go into the problem in depth.

The Law in Bharat does not recognise marital rape. Our Vedic Dharm speaks volumes on Vedic Dharm bu there is not a word on marital rape.

Frankly speaking, it is a concept of the West where Women's Lib movement , inter alia, created a chasm between the husband and wife. We must encourage them to live together and NOT end up as single parent.

Sasneh,

For N. Ashok Kumar

I agree India and China has taken different routes.  For first 65 years if independence, India adopted the Western socialist/ communist ideas, tried to destroy the ancient Indian culture and so did China.  Morals and ethics were ignored by the leaders in both countries for material prosperity.  In China it it is estimated that around 70 million Chinese died as a result of government policies.  British were very good at controlling media and school text books to show that they were very honest and benevolent rulers.  The truth was far from it.  British educated believed everything they read in text books and came to hate everything Indian - morals, ethics, scriptures, leaders, etc.

Thank you, Balamurali, for your support & review of the book.

Hope someone, somewhere will initiate a non-violent civil disobedience for a good cause for the benefit of common men.
