There has been much heart searching recently among Gandhians and responsible industrial circles over the true import of the idea of trusteeship as conceived by Gandhiji and its relevance to the present situation. A ritual obeisance was paid recently to the venerated Gandhian ideal at a conference of leaders and representatives of industry at Wardha under the benign presence of Acharya Vinoba Bhave. It is strange to assert as Mr. Balraj Madhok does (January 26) that the word Hindu “has never been used in the sense of a religion in the vast range of Indian literature.” To argue thus is to speak of Hamlet without the Prince of Denmark.
