gandhi and his humour sense

friends,

apart from various other legendary credits bapu is also credited with fantastic sense of humour.indeed it is one quality which a great leader must have .i am trying to compile those moments in the recorded history which gives us an idea about gandhi's humour sense.

one such moment - as recorded in claire sheridan's article- an american lady speaks to gandhi" gandhi when will you be visting america,people are eager to see you."

gandhi replied" ya i have heard about that, they have kept the zoo and cage ready so that every one can see this strange creature"

-these are not exact word, i a m just recollecting..

and in another instance- when gandhi steps in britain with his usual costume,one small english boy shouts to him " gandhi,where is your trousers" -on hearing he laughs very loudly.

and once asked by the reporters on what you think about western civilization,he replies" that would be a good idea"..

his humor is not teasing and arrogant,just subtle like his own self:)..i request our friends to share such incidents which they remember or give me references so that it will be useful for compilation and transalation in tamil..
